2.68 FAQ-784 How can I use comma as decimal mark and use semicolon as function arguments separator in formula and script?comma-as-decimal
Last Update: 6/3/2022
If you set the separator in Origin menu Preferences: Options: Numeric Format tab, Separators = 1.000,0, Origin will use comma as decimal mark and use a semicolon as function arguments separator in formula for these tools:

For example, you can use formula below to set column values in Set Values dialog:

data(0;2;0,5)
You can turn off this conversion by setting:

SYSTEM.NUMERIC.FORMULASMARTFUNCARGSEP=0;  //default is 1
in Script Window.
 If you want to apply the conversion above in Script Window, Command Window, Labtalk Console(in Code Builder) as well, you can set

SYSTEM.NUMERIC.SCRIPTSMARTFUNCARGSEP=1;  //default is 0
in Script Window. For example, you can run the following example in Script Window to set column value:

SYSTEM.NUMERIC.SCRIPTSMARTFUNCARGSEP=1 //set the value to be 1
// use comma as decimal mark
// use semicolon as function arguments separator
col(1)=rmod2(8; 1,5);
	  | Note: To make above conversion take effect permanently, you can edit the values in option.cnf in User Files Folder (you can open and edit the CNF file in Notepad).
