In new column, if you type text/value in first cell of a new column and press Enter key, Origin will check if pattern is found between it and 1st cell of other column. If so,

  • Preview will show with found pattern and suggested formula.

  • Click Flash Fill (Ctrl+Shift+E) - fill subsequent rows with pattern. This is a one-time action.

  • Click Create Formula (Ctrl+Shift+Enter) - smartly set column formula F(x). This column will update if input column changes

It works on shown rows only so user can add filter on some column. Do flash fill for shown rows only.
