OriginLab Releases New Data Analysis and Graphing Software, Origin 2026b

Mirror Columns for Referencing Data Without Duplication, Life Science GUI Mode with Structured Tables and GraphPad Prism Import, Improved Worksheet Productivity, Graph Annotation Enhancements, Expanded Statistics and Quality Improvement Features, and New and Updated Apps.

NORTHAMPTON, Massachusetts. June 23, 2026OriginLab, a leading publisher of data analysis and graphing software, today announced the release of Origin® and OriginPro® 2026b. This latest version of OriginLab’s award-winning software application adds many new features and improvements, plus a suite of all-new Apps to extend Origin’s graphing and analysis capabilities.

A major highlight of Origin 2026b is the introduction of Mirror Columns, a new technology that allows users to reference data anywhere in an Origin project without duplicating it. Data is stored only once while remaining accessible from multiple worksheets, workbooks, and folders, resulting in smaller project files and simplified data management.

OriginPro 2026b also introduces a dedicated Life Science GUI Mode designed to streamline biological and pharmaceutical data analysis workflows. The new mode includes structured data tables, context-sensitive menus, and integrated analysis tools tailored for dose-response studies, grouped replicates, time-course measurements, and multi-factor designs.

To facilitate migration from GraphPad Prism, OriginPro 2026b supports direct drag-and-drop import of Prism (.pzfx and .prism) files. Users can also copy and paste Prism table data directly into Origin, where worksheets are automatically converted into the corresponding structured table format.

A new capability for managing worksheet structures has also been added. Users can now add or insert columns in one worksheet and automatically apply the same changes to multiple worksheets within a workbook, folder, or entire project. This feature is particularly useful when adding new calculations, metadata fields, or analysis results to existing datasets. When column formulas are included, formulas can be automatically copied and applied to corresponding worksheets, eliminating repetitive manual editing and reducing the potential for errors.

Origin 2026b includes several enhancements designed to make graph annotation faster and more intuitive. A new Slope Annotation tool allows users to quickly display slope information directly on graphs, while improvements to data annotation provide greater flexibility for labeling and highlighting important data points. Additional enhancements include expanded reference line capabilities, new append modes for graph annotation tools, and improved object alignment through snap-to-point and snap-to-object functionality. Together, these additions help users create clearer, more informative, and publication-ready graphs with fewer steps.

This version also expands its statistical and quality improvement capabilities with new hypothesis testing tools, enhanced reporting options including Summary Reports, Diagnostic Reports, and Power Analysis, as well as new Design of Experiments and Reliability and Survival Analysis features. These additions provide researchers and quality professionals with more comprehensive tools for data exploration, process improvement, and decision making.

New and updated Apps are also available through OriginLab's App Center, including Acceptance Sampling, Random Forest, Stability Study, Predictive Modeling Advisor, and GraphPad Prism Connector, along with updates to Reliability and Survival Analysis, Statistical Process Control, Design of Experiments, Decision Tree Analysis, Graph Maker, and Data Factory.

Origin offers an intuitive, point-and-click interface for new users, combined with a wide range of powerful functions for advanced purposes. OriginPro includes all the features of Origin plus extended analysis tools. Origin and OriginPro are used by more than 1 million registered customers worldwide, spanning Fortune Global 500 companies, research institutions, and colleges and universities across various disciplines including physics, chemistry, biology, pharmacology, engineering, and manufacturing.
