PURPOSE
This app can be used to import Stiegele MDF file. The .mdf file doesn’t include data itself, but contains the information of the structure of the data in another file. The file which stores the data is a .dta file, has the same name as the .mdf file, and is placed in the same folder.

INSTALLATION
Download the file Stiegele_MDF_Connector.opx, and then drag-and-drop onto the Origin workspace. An icon will appear in the Apps Gallery window’s Connector tab.
You can launch the app from the Data menu or from the App icon in the Connector tab of the Apps Gallery, located at the right-side of the Origin workspace.

OPERATION

  1. With the worksheet active, click on the Data menu, and select Connect to FileStiegele MDF. Choose an mdf file and click OK.
  2. In the opened Data Connector Browser dialog, all variables in the mdf file are listed. Double-click on the variable or click on the Down button to add the variable to the imported list. Click OK button, selected variables in the file will be imported in Origin’s worksheet.

SAMPLE OPJU FILE
This app provides a sample OPJU file. Right click on the Stiegele MDF Connector icon in the Apps Gallery window, and choose Show Samples Folder from the short-cut menu. A folder will open. Drag-and-drop the project file SMDFEx.opju from the folder onto Origin. The Notes1 window in the project shows detailed steps.
Note: If you wish to save the OPJU after changing, it is recommended that you save to a different folder location (e.g. User Files Folder).

NOTES

  1. This app requires a .mdf file for the description and .dta file for data with the same file name and in the same folder.
