Purpose
This App is used to measure the correlation between two multidimensional variables. It transforms them into two combinations of canonical variates by finding a set of linear coefficients. The coefficients are chosen so that they maximize the correlation between the two combinations of canonical variates. The number of canonical variates equals the smaller dimension of the two source variables.
Installation
Download the file "canCorr.opx", and then drag-and-drop onto the Origin workspace. An icon will appear in the Apps gallery window.
Operation
- Activate a worksheet with data and click the App icon to open the dialog.
- Select single or multiple columns for 1st and 2nd variable.
- Select observation labels for data points. Group can be used to plot observation data in different colors.
- Select quantities and plots to output.
- Click OK to output report sheet.
Sample OPJU File
This app provides a sample OPJU file. Right click the App icon in the Apps Gallery window, and choose Show Samples Folder from the short-cut menu. A folder will open. Drag-and-drop the project file CanonicalCorrSample.opju from the folder onto Origin. The Notes window in the project shows detailed steps.
Note: If you wish to save the OPJU after changing, it is recommended that you save to a different folder location (e.g. User Files Folder).
