Purpose
This app can be used to generate elastic response spectra (acceleration, velocity, displacement) from accelerogram using Newmark's beta method.
Installation
Download the ElasticResponseSpectra.opx file, then drag-and-drop onto the Origin workspace. An icon will appear in the Apps gallery window.
Operation
- Activate a worksheet with XY columns or a graph with XY data plots.
- Click the icon in the Apps Gallery window to open the dialog.
- Select a dataset as input and identify the unit of input accelerogram.
- Specify Samping Interval of Record from input X data. Enter Maximum Period of Spectra and Spectra Interval Step for the spectra to analyze.
- Specify beta and gamma values of Newmark's beta method. Specify Viscous Damping Ratio.
- Select quantities to output. You can change the units of output quantities.
- Click Preview to display the calculated spectra.
- Click OK to output data and create graph.
