Description:

PURPOSE
This app can be used to analyze time-to-event data including censored data in reliability and survival. It includes four tools: Parametric Distribution Analysis for Right CensoringNonparametric Distribution Analysis for Arbitrary CensoringWarranty Analysis and Accelerated Life Testing.

INSTALLATION
Download the file Reliability_and_Survival_Analysis.opx, and then drag-and-drop onto the Origin workspace. An icon will appear in the Apps Gallery window.
NOTE: This tool requires OriginPro.

OPERATION
Make a worksheet for input data active. Click on the Reliability and Survival Analysis icon in the Apps Gallery window. A dialog will open with four buttons: Parametric Distribution Analysis for Right CensoringNonparametric Distribution Analysis for Arbitrary CensoringWarranty Analysis and Accelerated Life Testing.

  • Parametric Distribution Analysis for Right Censoring
It supports 6 distribution types: NormalLognormalSmallest Extreme ValueWeibullLogistic and Loglogistic. It provides two methods to estimate parameters: Maximum Likelihood and Least Squares. It can calculate point's probability by two ways in probability plot: Benard and Kaplan-Meier. For Maximum Likelihood method and Kaplan-Meier option, P-value can be calculated using bootstrapping method. It can create Probability PlotSurvival PlotCumulative Failure Plot and Hazard Plot. Right censoring can be empty, and a more effeicient method will be used.

  • Nonparametric Distribution Analysis for Arbitrary Censoring
It estimates the CDF and survival function for lifetime data without assuming a parametric distribution. It supports arbitrarily censored data, including exact, right-censored, left-censored, and interval-censored observations. Two estimation methods are supported: Turnbull method and Actuarial method. The Actuarial method provides the calculation of the median remaining lifetime. The tool creates Survival Plot and Cumulative Failure Plot.

  • Warranty Analysis
It models the time between sale and failure using life distribution method (Parametric Distribution Analysis on Arbitrary Censored Data). The tool helps to understand product performance, forecast expected returns, and estimate warranty costs over time. Maximum Likelihood and Least Squares are supported for the data fitting. The tool creates Predicted number of failures plot and Predicted cost of failure plot.

  • Accelerated Life Testing
It analyzes data collected under accelerated stress conditions (such as temperature, voltage, or pressure) to estimate product life under normal operating conditions. The tool uses life distribution models to relate stress levels to product lifetime through acceleration models (Linear, Arrhenius, Inverse, or Logarithmic). Both right censored and arbitrarily censored data are supported. It creates Probability Plots and Relation Plot

SAMPLE OPJU FILE
This app provides a sample OPJU file. Right click on the Reliability and Survival Analysis icon in the Apps Gallery window, and choose Show Samples Folder from the short-cut menu. A folder will open. Drag-and-drop the project file RSASample.opju from the folder onto Origin. In Origin's Project Explorer window, each folder corresponds to a tool. In each folder, the Notes window shows detailed steps for each tool.
Note: If you wish to save the OPJU after changing, it is recommended that you save to a different folder location (e.g. User Files Folder).
