Description:

PURPOSE
This app can be used to extract the maximum time-frequency ridge from the time-frequency spectrogram. It calculates the frequency which has the largest power for each time.

INSTALLATION
Download the file Extract_Ridge_from_Spectrogram.opx, and then drag-and-drop onto the Origin workspace. An icon will appear in the Apps Gallery window.

OPERATION
Make a time-frequency spectrogram graph active. Click Extract Ridge from Spectrogram app icon in Apps Gallery window. A curve for time-frequency ridge will be added to the graph. And XYZ data for the ridge are shown in a new worksheet.

SAMPLE OPJU FILE
This app provides a sample OPJU file. Right click on the Extract Ridge from Spectrogram icon in the Apps Gallery window, and choose Show Samples Folder from the short-cut menu. A folder will open. Drag-and-drop the project file ExtractRidgeEx from the folder onto Origin. The Notes window in the project shows detailed steps.
Note: If you wish to save the OPJU after changing, it is recommended that you save to a different folder location (e.g. User Files Folder).

ALGORITHM
For each time, find the frequency which has the largest power in the time-frequency spectrogram.
