A single molar tooth with a12 -mm mesio -distal length was prepared for a Class II MOD restoration. The medial-occlusal portion measured 6mmx3mmx2mm and the proximal boxes measured 3mmx3mmx4mm. A metal matrix band was placed, and the preparation restored using an adhesive system (Adhese, Ivoclar) and a bulk fill composite (Surefill SDR, Dentsply). The composite was light -cured with a laboratory blue LEDLED (1000 mW/cm ) for 5minutes to ensure complete polymerization and the restoration -tooth -matrix assembly was embedded in epoxy resin. The top and bottom surfaces of the tooth were ground up to the restoration box, parallel to the occlusal and gingival floors. The restoration was then irradiated from the occlusal surface using three different LCUs (Bluephase Style, VALO Cordless and VALO Grand) and beam profile images were obtained from the bottom surface. Subsequently, the sample was further reduced from the gingival floor up to the bottom surface of the occlusal floor, light -irradiated, and beam profile images obtained. The beam profile images were merged and interpolated to create 3Dmatrix -model and a virtual section was performed at the center in the mesio-distal direction. Data were evaluated using digital image correlation and split -plot ANOVA (𝛼=0.05 ,β= 0.2).
